Yesterday we said goodbye to Sophia Chen, who has been an intern at Leed Risk Services for the last month. The internship came about as part of our UNiBA Partners network. When Con Manetas, Managing Director of Leed Risk Services, was at the Australian cluster conference AIMS 2017 Shanghai he met up with one of our local UNiBA Partners members, Navigator, Chairman of the Board, Solomon Cai, and their staff. There it was agreed for Leed to accept the internship of one of Navigator’s senior managers, Sophia Chen. After spending a month in the Leed office in Perth, Western Australia and learning all about the Australian Insurance market, the compliance regime and the services Leed offers, Sophia plans on continuing the partnership back in China, where Navigator, with Leed, will expand their service offering to include a variety of new products for the China market as well as a focus on Chinese-Australian enterprises and a combined service offering.
Con Manetas said “This has been a great initiative and a steep learning curve for Leed and Navigator on each others markets and we are thrilled to have some tangible outcomes to help each other.”
Solomon Cai said “It’s a very good chance for a Chinese insurance broker to work together with Leed which has many experience with special know-how to develop an industry insurance solution. China has huge potential business opportunities need to link up with international insurance expertise. We’ll expect to work closely with Leed for many years.”
